Marine Choreo

My newest artwork, "Marine Choreo," oil paint on canvas, depicts a dance of colors in a marine landscape. Waves of vibrant colors cast into a blue background which also has a wavy texture. It creates the illusion of movement among underwater elements. Underwater life intrigues me so much. It has a powerful mystery art nor science cannot utterly decipher.

The Mask of a Renegade

I heard a line from a Batman movie "Everybody wears a mask." Indeed we do. Perhaps one, or two, or three or more masks. This art portrays a deep anguish of somebody who find it difficult to express himself or herself in this noisy and criticizing world. Another point of this art is the battle of darkness and light. Is the light about to clear all the darkness? Or is darkness engulfing the light on the face of the subject? What do you see?

The Crimson Vibrato

"The Crimson Vibrato"

In this Universe, every thing vibrates in frequencies only nature determines. Light vibrates. Heat vibrates. Atoms vibrate. Molecules vibrate. Life vibrates. Without this innate characteristic of matter and energy, I believe that life won't even be made possible.

This masterpiece utilizes movements of colorful elements. Just like music in the form of visual media. Music of colors. Just like guitar strings vibrating to embody a beautiful combination of tones and undertones making a musical magnum opus that suits the longing souls of the audience. 

This oil-paint-on-canvass artpiece is kept by my friend May Tolentino-Pagdayunan.

Verdant

"Verdant"

I gave this painting as a gift to my friend Ferdinand Martirizar. The title says about greeneries. I used malunggay stems to impress the shades of scattered green oil paint on canvas. I also did some strokes to impress patterns.

Verdant came to be from my fascination towards greeneries, vegetation and landscaping. Green I believe is the color of primordial life. Algae, lichens, mosses, seaweeds, grasslands - they make the beginning of life on earth possible. When I am in the middle of green landscapes, I feel like I am immersed with nature. The hue of chlorophyll makes me relax and just enjoy the beauty of this world. Green makes me breathe lighter. When there are plants around that also means plenty of oxygen for my lungs.

This painting illustrates a friendship bound by travel and nature escapades. We have known each other since High School and thus this artwork portrays how green with life and sprinkled with joy our friendship is.

Philippines as an archipelago has various beliefs of mythological creatures of the sea. Whether just a figment of imagination or there's truth behind it we could only speculate. 

Modern times drown the creativeness of imagination. But this painting that I gave to my friend Don Sarabia as a gift, depicts curiosity in the realms of mythology. Sometimes, we never know in our daily struggles in life especially in our jobs or business that there is somebody who may wish to be in our life. Sometimes we don't appreciate our life because of our burdens and pains but still we cannot just zero out that this life we have is coveted by somebody else. We don't appreciate what we have. Maybe because we are bored of a routine. Yet we just don't know somebody prays to have this boring life we have.

"The Bridal Bouquet"

This painting is my gift to my dearest friend May for her wedding. It depicts the bride's fascination to flowers, colors and scents portrayed through visual art. The art conveys the joy of a bride on her wedding day which is contagious just like the bouquet of flowers on her hand and the mix of well wishes of family and friends around her and her groom.
